If your TikTok feed has turned into a parade of people arriving like they own the block, you have met Pimpwalk Entrance — also known as the hold the door trend. A friend pulls a shop door open at night, grooves beside it, and somebody comes through in a slow, low, leaned-back pimp walk, drops almost to a crouch, then rises into a close-up like the camera waited for them all night.
Short version: the scene was posted by @mrdanielkimchi on 17 October 2026, it is widely described as AI-generated, the audio is his "original sound", and within two weeks TikTok had run a 1970s dandy, costumed sisters, Mr Bean, Walter White and Messi through the same doorway. You can make your own version from two photos at the ViralReel pimpwalk entrance template — 15 seconds, 9:16, no app.
The scene, beat by beat
- The doorway. Night, a small shop with red-trimmed cream walls, camera at chest height inside. The doorway is drawn — it is the same shop in every version.
- The door swings wide. The friend holding it grooves in place. They are the hype man; the guest is the star.
- The strut. The guest comes through in a pimp walk — knees bent, shoulders rolled back, head tilted — dropping almost to a crouch while gliding forward.
- The rise. Straight up into a close-up by the camera. Main-character energy, delivered.
The pimp walk itself is much older — the exaggerated strut of 1970s films — but the 2026 version is not a dance anyone learns. It is an entrance someone else is made to do, which is why it works best on your dad, your boss, or your dog.
